Eric Bartlett is a professional voice-over actor and bass vocalist whose commercial credits include: Hyundai, the Minnesota State Lottery, Berlitz, Lerner Publications, and Treasure Island Resort & Casino, to name a few. His voice has been called “warm, deep, and conversational”, with “attention-grabbing power.” His dynamic tone makes him in-demand for a range of voice over projects, from low voice “pipes” roles (think “Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!), to guy next door/let’s-grab-a-beer/Joe Everyman roles. His ability to quickly understand and connect with copy, to easily take direction, and to creatively improvise, have made him a go-to voice for commercial spots in many US markets. Most recently, his sincere approach to character development has opened him up to the world of audiobooks, and his intense and continuing language study of Spanish, German, and French have similarly opened new recording opportunities for his versatile voice. Finally, his love for travel — both domestic and international — has solidified his grasp of many different dialects of the English language.
Eric’s owes his ear for intonation and inflection to his musical study and performance. He has sung, and continues to sing, many solo and ensemble projects in the Minneapolis/St.Paul and Denver areas. Some of the ensembles that Eric sings with currently, or has sung with in the past, include: The VocalEssence Ensemble Singers, an internationally known professional choir under the direction of Phillip Brunelle, The Rose Ensemble, a professional early music ensemble that is regularly broadcast on American Public Media and abroad, The Gregorian Singers, a professional early music ensemble based in Minneapolis, and the St. Martin’s Chamber Choir, a professional early music ensemble based in Denver. He has also served as bass section leader at several Minnesota churches, including St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Roseville, Hennipen Avenue United Methodist Church in Minneapolis, St. Paul’s-on-the-Hill, St. Paul, and St. Martin’s-by-the-Lake Church in Minnetonka Beach. Eric has sung in ensembles conducted by Dale Warland, Phillip Brunelle, John Rutter, Eric Whitacre, Sir Stephen Cleobury, Dr. Greg Aune, and Dr. David Mennicke, among others.
Eric currently divides his time between Saint Paul, Minnesota and Denver, Colorado. His varied interests include travel, foreign languages, skiing, American history, the humor of George Carlin, baseball (and its myriad stats), Greek mythology, fine wine, and the quest for the perfect crab cake.
